Hello sisters! I'm sorry I haven't posted much in the last month (sick kids or self ALL month long, and even now one of the twins is sick, again). But it is a new month and we need to move on. As far as September goes, we are still planning on ordering the water barrels, but we've been waiting to hear final order count from the other Wards in the Stake. October 15th will be the deadline to place the order and then that's it. And for October, we are ordering RICE and PASTA. The Cannery has white rice, spaghetti, and macaroni packaged and sealed in the number 10 cans for 30 yr. shelf life and the pricing is as follows:
Rice is $4.00 per can (5.7 lbs)
Macaroni is $4.30 per can (3.4 lbs)
Spaghetti is $4.95 per can (4.3 lbs)
I will be renting the machine to can my own white rice since my family prefers the good sticky rice over what we've had in the past from the Cannery. I plan to buy a large bag at Costco of the Calrose rice we like and then package and seal it, so I'll have to order the materials for canning as well. If anyone is interested, that information is as follows:
#10 dry pack cans ares 0.75 each
#10 metal lid for sealing 0.15 each
oxygen absorber is 0.10 and oxygen absorber bag clip is 1.90
If you would like to learn how to to use the machine or can some of your own as well, contact me by the end of this month, Sunday October 30th. Thank you, and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
WELCOME!
