*Use more or less butter and salt as desired
*For large amounts, do not microwave. Instead heat ingredients in an 8-qt Dutch oven and whip potatoes with a whisk.
STOVE-TOP DIRECTIONS:
- Heat water, butter, and salt to boiling in a saucepan.
- Remove from heat. Stir in milk and potatoes until just moistened. Let stand about 30 seconds and whip with a fork.
MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
- Stir potatoes and salt in a microwaveable bowl until well blended. Stir in HOT water, milk, and butter until moistened.
- Cover with plastic wrap, folding back one side to vent steam. Microwave on High as directed in chart. Remove carefully and whip with a fork.
