This recipe is from Denise Barlocker in the Ward Cookbook
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 15oz can tomato sauce
2 TB quick oats
1 TB brown sugar
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/2 tsp chili powder
a dash of hot pepper sauce
salt and pepper, to taste
hamburger buns
In a large skillet, cook beef, onion, and celery until meat is browned and onion is tender. Drain off excess fat. Stir in tomato sauce, oats, brownsugar, sauces, spices, and 1/2 cup of water. Simmer uncovered about 30 min. Spoon about 1/2 cup meat mixture into each bun. Makes 7-8 servings.
